A Solo Exhibition

My first immersive installation of handmade textile and mixed media works reflects on the symbolic meaning and weight of words.

This series of new works transforms texts from diverse sources and eras into physical symbols, translating them first into code, then into color, and finally into form, embodying messages that remain at once hidden and visible.

Each one of my works explores the power of texture, materiality, meaning, and movement to influence the way we connect with the world around us.

Introducing

2024 Minis

A series of small-scale visual records of the activity in the studio in the past year. Each miniature represents a new material, process, or technical exploration. Many studies eventually found form in larger works. Others never advanced past curiosity. As a full collection–or smaller curations therein–they demonstrate how cohesive groups can occur, even within a wide diversity of identity and expression.

Feature

Sexy Fluffy

Inspired by the tension between lightness and density, this work evokes a metal shell filled with air, at once prepared to float and also destined to sink. The fabric surfaces are stitched and coated with intricate, raised spatter patterns, bringing a playful wink of ordered chaos.
